I went from a fx to an i7 k and it ran slow and crap, then it finally activated and I reinstalled to get the speed back. But, i didn't quite understand, it asked for your key, you put it and it didn't work? So it was then all good, i just need to ""replug everything"" in and enter win10 key or account with key linked right? It will work but might run slow until it updates properly. I did change for exact same model mobo when I did the swap due to a defect. Windows asked for my product key and I just kept on trucking from there. My 2tb hdd is for all my media files movies, series, music, pics, documents I changed mobo only a few months into my build. So it means that i will wipe all my files then? Personally I have a gb partition for Windows, another gb partition for programs excluding games but including lauchers and the rest for games. The only partition idk if it's the correct term is a 99Mo one and a Mo one about the recovery partition.

Is your current windows drive partitioned with only windows on one partition and the rest of your programs on the other. So, reddit, can you help me? Or confirm me that i can safely just change my motherboard and CPU just by re-plugging the cables without doing a clean windows install again?
